Tonight was a choose-your-own-adventure kind of dinner. I went classic and comforting with Zoup! Chicken Noodle, Stephen leaned fully into cozy indulgence with Portabella Mushroom Bisque, and we met in the middle with a simple green salad. No simmering pots, no regrets — just warm bowls and an easy win.

This was one of those weeks where the plan was solid, but energy was not — so the soup came from the fridge instead of the stovetop. And honestly? It worked. Different soups for different moods, a fresh salad for balance, and dinner was on the table without turning it into a project. Winter comfort, minus the effort.

The soup-from-scratch plan was solid. The motivation? Not so much. Turns out the missing trash bag, a full dishwasher, and zero desire to deal with either were all the excuse I needed. The Zoup! absolutely delivered, the salad kept things balanced, and nobody missed the pork even a little.

This was one of those “I could… but I won’t” nights. The dishwasher was still full, the trash can liner had vanished into the void, and Publix happened to be running a BOGO on Zoup! — which felt like the universe making the decision for me. Sometimes dinner is about effort management, not culinary ambition.
