July 20, 2025 – by Carol in 2025, Summer 5, Sunday, Weekly Meals

🍽️ The Menu

  • Main Dish
Leftover Flo’s Filet from Long Horn Steakhouse (because I didn’t finish it at lunch—on purpose)
  • Side Dish
Loaded baked potato and a couple of revived salad greens from earlier
  • Embedded
Cabernet Sauvignon and a hefty helping of sarcasm

📸 Final Plate

Flo’s Filet and a baked potato—Long Horn knows how to do Sunday right.

🔍 About the Meal

Sunday lunch out with Mom, Dad, and Stephen meant one thing: Dad got his steak. And so did I.

We headed to Long Horn, where I ordered the Flo’s Filet medium-rare (emphasis on rare). It arrived with a temp probe hole—which was promising—but the interior was looking more medium than rare. Still, it was tasty. The baked potato was fully loaded, the Cabernet flowed, and the server eventually found our table. I only ate half (because strategy), and the leftovers were just as good when they came back for dinner.

Pre-steak greens, because balance matters… and cheddar makes everything better.
Steve’s go-to burger stack, complete with steak fries and a side of “don’t touch my plate.

📝 Sunday Notes

The blinds were out of reach today, but that dusty light fixture gave me all the material I needed. Steak came slightly over temp, but not enough to complain. Service was slow at first, but picked up. We dropped off the parents, hit Publix for “just milk” and walked out with half the store. Also, I’m testing half-caf tomorrow—wish me luck.

🎬 Behind the Scenes

This was a no-cook day. The only heat I faced was from the sun in the Publix parking lot. I plated dinner leftovers on a real dish like an adult and didn’t even have to wash a pan. Is this what peak efficiency looks like?
