🔍 About the Meal
Not every day ends in a composed cold plate worthy of Pinterest. Sometimes, you look at the shrimp in the fridge and just go… nah. And that’s what happened tonight.
Dinner was officially upgraded to “find your own adventure.” It may not have involved dill, ginger, or even a cucumber, but it did involve keeping our sanity and not tossing anything in the trash. That’s still a win.
I had good intentions. The shrimp was ready, the rice was planned, the cucumber salad was scheduled to shine… but the motivation? She left the building. Instead of forcing it, I did what any reasonable home cook would do on a sweltering Friday night: I abandoned the plan and embraced the leftovers, the snacks, and whatever was hiding behind the mustard in the fridge.
📝 Friday Notes
Shrimp is still in the fridge. Waiting. Judging.
Zero food waste though, so I’m counting this as responsible adulting.
Stephen didn’t complain, which is basically a Michelin star in this house.
There’s always next Friday.
🎬 Behind the Scenes
Kitchen stayed clean. Dishwasher was grateful. I sat down early and watched TV instead of fussing with plating shrimp on romaine. Honestly? 10/10 would improvise again.
