🔍 About the Meal

Saturday means lunch with Barbara. It’s tradition, it’s chaos-adjacent, and somehow it always ends up being memorable. This week’s venue? Ovation Bistro & Bar — a local spot known for smoked meats and the world’s most randomly placed strawberry lemonade.

Barbara wanted soup. Barbara always wants soup. But alas, nothing struck her fancy, and just like May 24th, she declared “none of this sounds right” and went full-send on the Pretzel Brandy French Toast. Because… brunch wins, I guess?

Stephen went off-menu with a shrimp Cobb salad (yes, shrimp, because that’s a thing now), while I stuck with the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad — grilled, not crispy, because someone in this family has to show restraint.
