🔍 About the Meal
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the noble pivot. This was supposed to be pulled pork. I had the plan, the shopping list, and the intention. What I didn’t have? The will to slow-cook anything on a 92° day. And honestly? That’s growth.
So out came the Nathan’s franks, the McCain onion rings, and the hot dog buns that were living their best top-sliced life. I grilled the buns, air-fried the rings, and we had ourselves a stress-free Independence Day meal.

📝 Friday Notes
Stephen didn’t even blink when I said, “We’re not doing pulled pork.” That silence was filled with respect… and probably relief. We both enjoyed the meal with zero complaints and exactly one nap afterward. This is the kind of holiday energy I can get behind.
🎬 Behind the Scenes
Everything hit the table in under 30 minutes — no oven, no drama, no regrets. The Cuisinart grilled the buns while the air fryer did its crispy little job. I assembled everything with as much flair as I could muster, poured myself a drink, and called it festive enough.
