Frozen Pizza Wasn’t on the Menu—But It Saved My Sanity

2025 Summer 3 – Thursday

July 3, 2025 – by Carol in 2025, Summer 3, Thursday, Weekly Dinner

🍽️ The Menu

  • Main Dish: DiGiorno Thin & Crispy Stuffed Crust Pepperoni & Sausage Pizza
Side Dish: Let’s not kid ourselves — this was the side dish, snack, and main event.
Embedded: A warm apology to the seafood salad that’s still in the fridge, untouched and unloved.

🔍 About the Meal

Thursday’s plan was a seafood salad with all the freshness and flair of summer. Instead, the seafood swam back into the fridge and I embraced the ease of frozen pizza. The DiGiorno was a BOGO deal from Publix, which was probably how it landed in my freezer in the first place. The stone got a little aggressive, so yes — we ended up with extra crispy crust. I wasn’t mad about it.

Stephen gave it a 4 (savage), I gave it a 7 because it was hot, crunchy, and required zero chopping or cleanup. Sometimes that’s the win.

📝 Thursday Notes

  • This meal required nothing from me. And I needed that.
  • I now know the pizza stone needs slightly less time than the box says.
  • The seafood salad has been pushed aside maybe is will have success in 2026.

🎬 Behind the Scenes

Me: “I’ll make the seafood salad, it’ll be light and refreshing.”
Also me, staring at the stove at 4:30 PM: “Or… pizza.”
The oven preheated. The seafood did not.
